About Bobo

Phillip Benefield (BOBO) has been playing music professionally since the age of 5. He started in Las Vegas at the Tropicana Club playing drums with Dick Cantino and his forty piece orchestra sitting in on drums for one set every Friday and Saturday night. After all, he was five, and he had to get to bed. From there, he knew all he wanted to do was play drums. His step-father was the original bass player for Glenn Miller. So you can see where he might have gotten his inspiration. As a young musician growing up around some pretty well known musicians, BOBO’s musical interests were wide and varied. To put it simply, there is nothing he couldn’t play. (genre wise). He went on to play with several big names on limited engagements. By the time he graduated high school in west Texas, he had played shows with; Doc Severenson, Jerry Lee Lewis, and the legendary Buddy Rich. Shortly after graduation, he did a few shows with B.B. King when his drummer needed time off. In the 1980’s BOBO got a chance to play with two “Hair Bands”, Autograph and Keel. In the 1990’s until the present, he has played with; Jerry Kilgore, Joel Sonnier, Little Jimmy Dickens, Colt Prather, Chris Cagle, Michael Peterson Jeff Cook of the super group Alabama and Trace Adkins, and Daryle Singletary. Now BOBO is playing with Tate Stevens (winner of the X-Factor). And it is one of the most fun things he has done to date. He has been around the world playing music, and he isn’t about to stop now. He just added a lot more music to his life when he met his wife, Kimberly (Broker/Owner of Sweet HOMElife Real Estate), and he fell in love with her, her children...and of course, real estate. Now, when not on the road, they work side-by-side everyday helping buyer's buy and seller's sell. Life is like a song!
